Q: (summarized) I went back to school mid-career & have a 4 year job gap on my resume while I was completing my degree – how do I address this on my resume?
A: You can hear the full response with more info on whether I recommended to this caller to 1) put the part-time ebay work she did during that timeframe on her resume, or 2) leave it off resume and address the work gap in her cover letter, and the related possibilities that came up while I answered (I always think of more things to consider!). Both answers talk about transferable skills, important to learn how to identify & talk about whether you went back to school, have an employment gap, are changing careers, or not. Q: I am applying for my first entry level Paralegal job after my training & don’t have any experience in a law office yet. What advice do you have for structured interview questions in this situation?
