Work as a Way to Do Good
I think most of us would prefer (even strongly prefer!) to work for a company that aligns with our own values and gives back to the world/does good in some way. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
Two of my (awesome!) clients are in these fields and working for these types of organizations – they are growing. Next month’s newsletter will most likely talk about these, B Corps and other ways business can be used to promote positive changes and the common good – wouldn’t we all prefer to work for an organization with those values also in their bottom line??

My current “office” – a friend’s CO mountain home with my “assistant” – can you spot the visitor that didn’t have an appointment? Does your job allow you the lifestyle you want? If you need a new one – please reach out!
(I spent the month of September on a working holiday, enjoying fall in CO and family in AZ – awesome experiences, and, views from my various “offices” on the road!)
Minding Your P’s and Q’s
An important success factor in job search (and getting offers!), is to stand out among your competition. One simple, quick way you can do that is to send a thank you letter after an interview.
I have hired most people I got (a thank you letter) from, though less than 5% of all applicants send one. – Hiring Manager
